A calibrant-free drift compensation method for gas sensor arrays

چکیده

Gas sensors lack repeatability over time. They are affected by drift, the result of changes at sensor level and in environment. A solution is to design software methods that compensate for drift. Existing often based on calibration samples acquired start each new measurement session. However, finding a good reference compound difficult task generating time-consuming. We propose model-based correction method which does not require any sample time, operating ‘blindly’. In this study, we focus drift affecting electronic noses. To end, built real data set 9 months real-life conditions. By using proposed method, show partly compensated, thus increasing reliability nose. Besides, also algorithm can easily adapt if target compounds all sampled during every

Metal Oxide Gas Sensor Drift Compensation Using a Two-Dimensional Classifier Ensemble

Sensor drift is the most challenging problem in gas sensing at present. We propose a novel two-dimensional classifier ensemble strategy to solve the gas discrimination problem, regardless of the gas concentration, with high accuracy over extended periods of time. This strategy is appropriate for multi-class classifiers that consist of combinations of pairwise classifiers, such as support vector...

Metal Oxide Gas Sensor Drift Compensation Using a Dynamic Classifier Ensemble Based on Fitting

Sensor drift is currently the most challenging problem in gas sensing. We propose a novel ensemble method with dynamic weights based on fitting (DWF) to solve the gas discrimination problem, regardless of the gas concentration, with high accuracy over extended periods of time. The DWF method uses a dynamic weighted combination of support vector machine (SVM) classifiers trained by the datasets ...

Drift compensation of gas sensor array data by Orthogonal Signal Correction

Drift is an important issue that impairs the reliability of gas sensing systems. Sensor aging, memory effects and environmental disturbances produce shifts in sensor responses that make initial statistical models for gas or odor recognition useless after a relatively short period (typically few weeks). Frequent recalibrations are needed to preserve system accuracy. However, when recalibrations ...

Drift Compensation of Gas Sensor Array Data by Common Principal Component Analysis

A new drift compensation method based on Common Principal Component Analysis (CPCA) is proposed. The drift variance in data is found as the principal components computed by CPCA. This method finds components that are common for all gasses in feature space. The method is compared in classification task with respect to the other approaches published where the drift direction is estimated through ...

Corroles-Porphyrins: A Teamwork for Gas Sensor Arrays

Porphyrins provide an excellent material for chemical sensors, and they have been used for sensing species both in air and solution. In the gas phase, the broad selectivity of porphyrins is largely dependant on molecular features, such as the metal ion complexed at the core of the aromatic ring and the peripheral substituents. Although these features have been largely exploited to design gas se...
